I was looking through my Bible the other day and I stumbled across a verse I hadn't really thought much about in the past.  Proverbs 31 is a fairly well-known chapter about the wife of noble character.  The verse that really stood out to me was verse 12 -
"She brings him [her husband] good, not harm, ALL the days of her life".  It's interesting that it doesn't just say that she is good to her husband during marriage.  She brings him good ALL the days of her life.  That includes before marriage.  Before she even knows him.  I was really challenged when I read that verse.  It reminded me that my actions affect other people, and the way I live my life today can have a direct impact on future relationships.  So, I must ask myself - how am I bringing my future husband good rather than harm TODAY?  What am I doing TODAY that will benefit our relationship?  Am I pursuing Jesus wholeheartedly and seeking Him first?  Am I falling more in love with my Savior daily and discovering who I am in Him?  Is the way I dress, the way I think, and the way I talk to others (especially guys) going to do future damage?  It's crazy to think about, but it was a good reminder/wake-up call for me.  Obviously I'm not perfect, and I may fail more times than I get it right, but I hope to at least strive to make Proverbs 31:12 true in my life.
