Hey! My name is Abbey and I’m 18 years old. I live in South Carolina with my parents, three younger brothers, and my younger sister. Some basic info about me – I love learning
Spanish (it’s one of my biggest passions), I’ve been to
Paraguay twice and to
Costa Rica once and I’d love to go back, I often am compared to Sandra Bullock’s character at the beginning of ”
Miss Congeniality” (which happens to be one of my favorite movies), I enjoy sipping an ice cold
Coke or a nice cup of
Starbucks coffee, two of my biggest fears are
snakes and
mayonnaise,
green is my favorite color, I
can’t sing, I love to
laugh, I would love to
travel all over the world, I am
usually shy until I get to know someone pretty well, and sometimes I wish I was
Latina (I find their culture and lifestyle intriguing).
Okay, I know that wasn’t the most important stuff to write about, but since this is a bio I thought I’d give a little bit of info about myself. Here comes the important stuff…
I was one of those people who was never, ever going to be a missionary. You may know people like that. Maybe you’re like that yourself, who knows. Well, in 10th grade I took my first trip out of the country to Paraguay, South America. On this trip, God really gave me a heart for the Spanish language and a passion for the Hispanic/Latino culture. I went back in 11th grade and began to see how my love for Spanish fit in with my love for travel. God started to show me that He has wired me for something like this. My gifts and passions line up exactly with what He has called me to do – go and tell others about what He has done in my life. As I look back I realize that my love for language and culture is more than just a hobby. It is a gift and it is a tool that I can use to minister to others. I am so excited to see what God does in and through me in Mexico.
Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Me da mucho gusto que tengas un corazon entregado a Dios y que el sea tu universo!
Que nuestro Senor Jesus te guarde y te bendiga siempre y que su rostro resplandesca en ti dia tras dias.
Bendiciones desde Texas.
